Step 1
Inquiry
1 day
When you first contact Greenway to have a new fibreglass pool installed, we want to know all the details. Is there a style, size, or colour in mind? Is your project a blank slate, or are you adding to an existing outdoor living space? Access to the work area is always a big piece of the puzzle, and this is especially important for projects that include a large feature like a pool. It’s a good idea to be prepared with some photos of your yard, a property survey if you have one, some inspiration images or goals to guide your vision of the finished project, and a budget. If you let us know what you want, we can tell you what’s needed to make it happen.
-
Step 2
Consultation
1 day
After we collect the initial details about your pool project, the next step is to meet in person at your home. Discussing the project on site allows us to identify any potential obstacles and opportunities that your property presents. You’ll be able to point out areas mentioned during the inquiry process and our team will gather measurements and topography data. Together we start to build the framework for how your project will come together.
-
Step 3
Design
2-5 days
Following the consultation, we take all the information discussed and begin putting together the pool layout integrated with any existing or proposed landscape features. Some aspects of your project, like the pool location, pool equipment location, and fencing, will be guided by local bylaws. Our Designer will balance municipal requirements with your vision to create a unique solution that meets your needs. Your design will be used during the permitting stage as part of the documentation provided to your municipal authority. This process might include revisions to adjust features based on your feedback. If you want to know more about the design process specifically, you can learn more here.
-
Step 4
Quote
1 day
Once your design is approved, we prepare a project proposal to out line the costs of all work included in the project. Our estimators will break down separate areas of the project if applicable and include descriptions of our installation process, so you know exactly what to expect from our crew. We are passionate about what we do and how we do it, so feel free to ask any questions about how something is built. Our team always strives to meet or exceed industry best practices and hold our installations to a high standard of quality.
-
Step 5
Permit Application
1-2 days
As soon as you give your project the green light, we start the permit application for your pool. This step is crucial to acquire the necessary permissions for your fibreglass pool installation. It includes creation and completion of any additional documents requested by your municipal permitting office.
-
Step 6
Municipal Approval
1-4 weeks
At this point we’ve submitted all the forms, drawings, and details and the only thing left to do is wait. Depending on the time of year and how busy the municipal offices are, this could be a short or a long wait. Our goal is to get your permit application in as early as possibly to avoid any scheduling delays. If there are any updates, we’ll keep you in the loop and you’ll be notified immediately upon approval.
-
Product Order, Sub-Trade Organization, and Installation Schedule
This step was already started around the time that you confirmed the project with us. We may have given a tentative start date, but we can’t firm this up in the schedule until permitting is complete. Now that the only thing left is to break ground on your project, we’ll be scheduling deliveries, trades, and your exact project start date.
-
Step 7
Project Installation
2+ weeks
This timeline varies the most as no two projects are the same. The expected length of installation will be provided to you when we’re preparing your quote. It is a point of pride for Greenway that when we open a project, we will be on site Monday through Friday (unless the weather prevents us) until the work is complete. You will always have the same crew on site from start to finish – sometimes with a little extra help, and sometimes with our trusted subtrades – a core team that you can check in with at the start or end of each day.
-
Step 8
Pool School
½ day
Your project is complete! But before you escape the summer heat with a dip in the pool, we want to make sure you’re set up with a foundation of knowledge about how everything works. We take a couple hours to go through all the features of your pool including each piece of pool equipment from the filters to the heater. This is an in-person quick startup guide so you can be sure the pool is properly maintained and enjoyed for years to come.
Please be aware that the length of time for each step in this process is dependent on the responsiveness of all parties involved. Communication delays can increase the timeline, pushing back project checkpoints.
