INQUIRY
Each new project begins with a conversation. We gather details to find your goals by asking questions about your current space, and what you hope it will become.
Undertaking a landscape project can be daunting, but by learning how you want to enjoy your space, we can create a foundation and begin to reveal its potential. One essential part of this foundation is budget. We don’t expect you to know the cost of landscaping for your project, that’s our job to figure out. We only need to know what your honest budget limitations are so we can operate within them.
CONSULTATION
After establishing the direction for your project, we take the time to meet with you on site and talk about both the challenges and opportunities of your existing space.
Our Designer will go over all the important details from your inquiry and discuss each in-depth to understand how best to approach a design solution for you. They will also record vital measurements, grades, and site conditions data to ensure the proposed design includes proper build standards and water management.
INITIAL DRAFT
Following the consultation, we prepare a complete digital design drawing package for your review. This includes a Colour Master Plan, Hardscape Plan, and Softscape Plan with Plant List.
For intricate or large projects, we may include detail drawings to better illustrate elements. If you choose, this package can also include 3D renderings of the completed project that visualize the elevations, colours, textures, and scale of features.
REVISIONS
The first design draft gives us a chance to bring your dream space to life on paper, but there may be elements that don’t completely fit that dream just yet.
The revision process allows you to give us feedback so we can adjust the design to meet your full expectations.
DESIGN APPROVAL & PRODUCT SELECTION
When finalizing your design, the last requirement is to confirm each of the hardscape products, plants, and elements. We might recommend meeting at one of our suppliers to see interlocking pavers, retaining wall stones, outdoor lighting fixtures, or other products in person and make sure that colours, styles, and textures are perfect.
PROJECT PROPOSAL
Based on your final design, we prepare a detailed project proposal that outlines the installation specifications, broken down by work area with pricing for each section and a project total. We provide all our clients with this complete proposal, even those that don’t request a design, to help you understand the scope and landscaping costs associated with the installation of your project.
BOOKING
The last step of the design process is to bring your plans to life. When you book your project for installation, we make a commitment to complete the work. Whether your start date is one month or one year out, our promise to you is that the build process will progress with precision, quality, and punctuality. Our team is available at every turn to answer questions and provide updates.
Inquiries & Solutions
After you reach out to us, our team will gather as much information about your project prior to setting up a meeting. This allows us to understand the full scope of work and your goals to ensure we’re able to meet them.
Moving forward, we schedule a consultation with one of the Construction Managers or our Designer, depending on the needs of your project. For design consultations, the next step is to create a first draft of drawings for your project with comprehensive hardscape and softscape plans. Any revisions for the plan are fielded before preparing a detailed quote to install your new space as shown on the plans.
For projects without a design plan, we create a detailed quote directly after the consultation. Throughout this entire process, our team is available to help you make the most informed decisions for your project and answer any questions you have.
Not all projects require a design, but we strongly suggest having one done for spaces with multiple or integrated features, or if you are visual and would find having a drawing of your project helpful.
The design process is also beneficial to flesh out the details of your dream outdoor space through revisions to create a destination on your property that can be enjoyed for years to come.
We offer various design options at different price points; from a simple hand sketch to better communicate the layout of your space, to full CAD digital design packages with 2D and 3D renders of your project.
